Merry Christmas!

Christmas came and went in a wonderful blur in the Taylor household. On Christmas Eve, we went to Jim's grandpa's house for dinner with the family. The evening ended with our annual White Elephant Gift Exchange. It's always interesting... My mom stayed the night with us, which was a nice addition. It was fun having her there in the morning.

I don't know who was more excited on Christmas morning—Jim and I or Landon. It was so much fun getting him out of his crib and watching him walk downstairs to the tree. The delight on his face symbolized Christmas for me. It's so much more meaningful now that we have a child.

After opening all of his presents, we enjoyed brunch with my mom and dad—something that I don't ever remember doing, but really enjoyed. I made Sunday Brunch Casserole and Jim made yummy cinnamon rolls.

From there, we made the trek down to my Aunt Cindy's house in Olympia to celebrate with the Madison family. Then, it was back up to Jim's dad's house for more gifts, food and fun. Needless to say, we were all very worn out by the time the day ended.

We are contemplating hosting an open house-style Christmas next year so that we don't have to pull Landon away from the house and be on the road so much. We've never done that before—we are always on the go—and we might just be a little selfish and do it next year!

We made sure to wish Baby Jesus a Happy Birthday as well. Landon is very taken by the Nativity on our mantel. He whispers "baby" and pats it gently. Precious!

Landon made a haul and truly enjoyed everything he got. He especially loved the kitchen that Santa brought him. We stayed home on the 26th and spent most of the day in our pj's playing. I drank numerous cups of "coffee" served by Landon and never knew plastic pizza could be so tasty.

Thank you to all of our family and friends for sharing this special day with us. We love you!
